About Me

My name is Harmony. I’m a freelance writer, wife, and mom of three. When I’m not sitting in the carpool line or folding towels, I write: essays, listicles, op-eds, blog posts, shareable content, and have work published in three anthologies.

I made a name for myself writing humor content revolving around alcohol and motherhood. Then, in 2017, I got sober. It was shocking to everyone, most of all me, when I admitted I had a problem; most people don’t imagine a highly functioning woman who still manages to hold together a marriage and a home when they picture an alcoholic.

Addiction is a sneaky bitch. You can read about my getting-sober journey here.

In the summer of 2019, my story was featured in The Washington Post. I was interviewed on KCBS Radio in San Francisco and 107.3 Talk Radio in Baton Rouge. Shortly after that, Deborah Roberts of ABC News came to my HOUSE — we spent 12 hours with a film crew! — and they did an amazing job with the story. As an aside, I love Deborah Roberts.

My story will be featured on The Mel Robbins Show; I’ll post a link after it airs. But mostly: I’m excited to continue sharing my story and chipping away at the stigma that surrounds alcoholism, addiction, and the silent struggles that plague so many modern women — particularly mothers.

  2. Hi I have just discovered you from the rocking chair in my daughter’s room. Your story was linked in my story ( your chocolate was in my peanut butter) on Scary Mommy about me losing my son in a swimming pool accident. Hi, I’m Erica. I’m the little drunk on sake right now and my daughter has been off her game tonight. Testing the boundaries. And I’ve been playing interference with Daddy who wants to be stern and me who wants to try to understand what may be bothering her. She’s three ( for only another month and half but dammit she’s still three) and I’m going to coddle til I can’t anymore. I look forward to getting to know you through your words. You seem kinda badass. ♡♡
